A new beginning…
Posted March 2nd, 2011 by DWalkerSo I decided today that I need to be better about updating my website, especially with the newest Walker on the way. For tonight I will just get you caught up a little bit…
I year ago today, Brandon and I moved to Charlotte, NC to rejoin Ken who had already been up here for 6 long months. Ken has been working for Shutterfly and I have been enjoying the amazing benefits of him doing so. Since June 2010 I am not longer employeed in the the hospitality industry and have become a stay at home mom to Brandon (who is now 2 1/2) and daycare providers for my two nephews Jacob (1 1/2) and Joseph (4 months). Most days I will tell you my job at the hotel was much easier but this job is much more rewarding. I am certainly not missing out on anything my son does. He is WAY too smart for his own good and he is learning something new every day. He loves having his cousins come over and play.
Brandon is such a good helper around the house (even when you don’t want him to be). He loves to help daddy take out the trash. He also enjoys doing laundry and dishes…no sure where he gets it from…certainly not me. When I tell him its time to eat he has to get everyone a “spoon” and “other spoon” (aka fork). When every Baby Joseph cries he wants to hold him or feed his his bottle. My baby is growing up too fast. No more crib, no more diapers, he doesn’t even want the bed rail on his bed anymore. He can get dressed all by himself and always wants to put on his own socks and shoes to go bye bye in the truck.
Incase you havn’t heard Brandon is going to be a big brother, anticipated arrival 8/6/11…in 8 short days we will find out if he will have a sister or a brother. We are very excited about this addition and I am sure Brandon is going to be a GREAT big brother.
In a few weeks we will be moving to a bigger house with more space for the boys to play and an extra bedroom for Baby Walker #2. Of course if you came over to my house today it does not look like I am moving but mom will be here next week and I am sure all of that will change quickly. I made the mistake of telling Brandon Nana was coming to visit and now he asks me EVERYDAY, ALL DAY if this is the day Nana is coming.
Life seems to never slow down, however the three of us were able to get away for a MUCH needed vacation (long weekend) a few weeks ago. We went up to the Smokey’s where we rented a cabin and had a fun and relaxing time. We were able to spend some time in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Now we are looking forward to the possibilities of heading to Nana and Papa’s in Florida for Easter. Even though its a long drive…it’s well worth it!
Well I guess that’s all for now…I promise to update more next week (and much more often) after we find out pink or blue.
